i’ve accepted the fact that you don’t want me in your life anymore. you haven’t crossed my mind as much these past few days because i’ve been busy trying to distract myself, trying to let “out of sight, out of mind” fall into place. but i still see flickers of you throughout the day, in everything i do, as if you’re this never-ending glitch in my eyes that i just can’t fix. you’re always there in front of my eyes, in thoughts, memories, and reminders. and i just can’t ignore them, when your absence is so present and your silence is so loud.

I really wish that some of the white women talkin about female representation at awards shows would realize that, 1) men of color are still making history in certain categories and their wins aren’t any less incredible because of their maleness and, 2) the same white women being nominated/winning awards isn’t as revolutionary as they would like to think it is
